London’s Most Instagrammable Spots

London’s Most Instagrammable Spots

London is rated one of the best cities in the world due to its diverse culture, fantastic cuisines and remarkable highstreets. It has a great mixture of modern architecture along with historical buildings and unique neighbourhoods. It is a fantastic place to both visit and live in and it seems to be the perfect spot for Instagrammers.

If you consider yourself to be a bit of an Instagrammer or digital nomad, here are some of the best places to take a picture in London.

Shad Thames

Up first is Shad Thames, which is located near the Tower Bridge and is an iconic street in London. Additionally, this street is almost like stepping back in time with its cobblestone roads and iron bridges, creating the perfect industrial setting for a Peaky Blinders scene. So if you want to add some industrial imagery to your Instagram profile, this is the place to be.

Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge is an iconic part of London and is one that is certainly worth visiting, never mind capturing a picture for Instagram. Due to how iconic this bridge is, it is also a very popular tourist destination that is admired by people from all over the world so you will certainly see plenty of selfie sticks. It is a very common spot, so we would advise you not to go during public holidays as this is when it could be at its busiest.

To capture the Tower Bridge at the right time, we advise you to get here early in the morning as the sun rises. If you are a late riser, then go in the evening when the sun is just about to set. The glow from the sun will shine across the River Thames, giving it a perfect hue and backdrop for your picture. Once you have finished up here, head to one of the cafes where you can enjoy a coffee and a biscuit whilst taking in the views of the Tower Bridge.

Notting Hill

Up next is Notting Hill and this is an area that isn’t mentioned in places to visit in London as much as other places; however, it does offer some of the best spots when it comes to Instagram backdrops. It is known for its multi-coloured houses and vibrant lights in the evening. Not to mention, you have the Portobello market, which is one of the most highly rated markets in London.

The best time to visit the market will be on a Saturday as the majority of the stalls are open then. Just make sure you get there early in the morning to avoid the large crowds that will be there.

The Shard

A more modern building but still just as iconic as the many other buildings in London is The Shard. It is a fantastic spot to capture London’s skyline, which obviously makes a perfect backdrop for a picture of yourself as well. Now you do have to pay the price for this, with the cost being £38 to go up The Shard. Nevertheless, it is something that is certainly worth experiencing once in a lifetime.

Although you can pay a pretty penny to visit the top of The Shard, there are also many restaurants and bars that you can visit as well which also make the perfect Instagram picture. No matter what view you choose, there will always be a spot where you can take a few pictures.

Red Telephone Box

The city centre is full of red phone boxes that are another iconic piece of London and, are a very historical part of the city so why not get a picture at the side of one for the gram? In fact, you can’t say you have been to London without a picture next to one of these bright red phone boxes. Or, the other option would be to capture one of the London buses in the background which is also an iconic part of London.

Visiting London

Visiting London is a perfect trip, however, travel can be quite difficult despite there being a variety of transport options available. This includes the London Tube, bus or even a bike. However, if you prefer to travel by car then you are never too short of parking in central London either, however, traffic can be quite bad and then you also have low emission zones. So the most cost-effective and efficient way would be to use the Tube. There are many forms of cheap travel in London so make sure you see what offers the best option for your journey.

As you can see, there are many places that you can see and capture in the capital. Some of these places you don’t need to pay for and others you will, for example, the Shard. However, Tower Bridge and Notting Hill are free of charge, the same as the Shad Thames so maybe visit those if you want a more cost-effective Instagram picture.
