Travel-Inspired New Year's Resolutions

Travel-Inspired New Year's Resolutions

Setting yourself new year’s resolutions is always fun, especially when you fulfill. Some are too challenging however, there are many that you can set, especially when it comes to travel. If you are one of those who love travelling, then setting yourself some travel goals for the new year is definitely encouraged. But if you’re stuck for ideas, then here are some suggestions for you.

Learn Something New

When you enter the new year, it’s always good to set yourself some new goals, and one of them can be learning something new. This could be anything from learning an instrument to learning a new language or even learning how to paint.

When it comes to learning about history, there is no better way to learn it than from the source. For example, learning about the Sami culture in Tromso is something that many international tourists consider when they visit Norway.

Visit A New Destination

Are you one of those people who like to visit the same countries every year because you know where everything is? Well, why not make a New Year's resolution where you explore a new country that embraces a different culture? Step out of your comfort zone and visit a new continent. Don’t just visit places that are only English-speaking. No matter what you choose, it just needs to be somewhere that is different to the other places that you have visited.

Spend Time With Family

Something that we often struggle to do as we get older is spend time with our family. This is because we are deep into our careers, where we have little free time, or we are starting our own families. Let this year be the change in that.

The last time you went on a holiday with your family was likely when you were a child. However, this year should be the time for a change. Go on a new family vacation, whether that is in your home country or overseas. Enjoy spending time with your family, where there is no work stress on top of it. No matter where you go, we can be sure that you’ll enjoy the experience.

Explore The Outside World

A lot of holidays tend to be city escapes, and rarely anything to do with nature. Let this year be the year where you explore the outdoor wonders in other countries. It could be the mountains of Peru to the Saharan deserts of Africa. It could even be island hopping between 1,400 islands in Thailand. Whatever it is, the world is a beautiful place when it comes to nature and natural wonders.

Practice Mindfulness

Have you ever considered mindfulness to be a part of your travels? Well, it is certainly something that is worth considering. Holidays can be relaxing adventures, it doesn’t have to be a holiday where you are doing something every day. Instead, it can be exploring temples in Thailand, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. Even yoga classes in Bali can be a great opportunity to explore your inner peace. Why not go one step further into the Himalayas and tie in the nature side to it as well? There are so many places to go to do this, so why not do something different this year and explore the many wonders?

Explore Your Own Home

A lot of people think a holiday is just exploring the rest of the world, but many people don’t explore the natural wonders of their own backyard. No matter what country you live in, we can almost be certain that there are plenty of places which are beautiful in your own country.

If you live in the UK, there are likely many cities, town and villages that you haven’t visited. In fact, you would be surprised how many people haven’t visited the capital of England, despite it being a few hours' drive away. Not to mention, there is a lot to see and do, and travelling is very easy to get there. You can take the train, the coach, or drive to London, as there is plenty of parking in central London

Tick Something Off Your Bucket List

A lot of people have some travel related bucklet list items, so if you are one of those people, then consider ticking one of these off. These sorts of trips tend to be more expensive than your traditional experiences. Things like seeing the Great Wall of China, spending two weeks in a safari park, a trip to New York at Christmas, or even exploring Australia. No matter what it is, let 2026 be the year where you tick something off your bucket list.

To Conclude

As you can see, there are a number of things that can be a part of your New Year’s resolutions. It doesn’t need to be too extravagant, but if you want it to be memorable, then why not tick something off your bucket list?
